$18 A Day-And So It Begins...Prepping

This is a far from easy task.  I mean really first you plan, then you budget, then you shop.. But what comes next is what I love about cooking.  Prep time.... Cut the tomatoes and slow roast them with a little salt (for pasta sauce), cook the sausage, cut the peppers, cook the rice (for burritos), mix the bread dough.

I do have to say....YUMMMM

All of this work also included a calculator. So if this adds this then it costs how much?

Am I with the #SNAPchallenge budget?

For Monday breakfast, $1.52 (grapefruit, toast, pop tart) Lunch, .49 cents (burrito); dinner, $5.33 (pasta and sauce, bread, cheese) ..  Oh, don't forget drinks .03 cents for 8 oz glass of ice tea, 12 cents for 8 oz glass of milk.

The grand total is $7.94

Until tomorrow

$18 A Day-Shopping

I love shopping, even if it is for food.   Really, it's an excuse to get me out of the house.  And the sales! Well between King Soopers and Whole foods I stayed we'll below the weekly budget $69.82. If I do need to back to the store for anything the money will be there.  Looking at what I did get for the week, I do not see any further food trips needed.  But you never know...

Until Next Time...

$18 A Day- The Budget

Well, I have to say the four legged family members decided to help me budget for weekly challenge.

How am I doing?  Between two grocery stores, less than $70 for the week.

This is just a rough calculation.  The shopping is in 20 minutes.

Until then...
